Toddler Tuesday

Last Tuesday we went to the Toddler Tuesday at the High Museum. Rybolt wanted to go pants-less as an artistic statement, but we eventually found him some pants. The toddler craft was to make hats. I think they turned out great!

Baikal's first race

Baikal rode in her first bike race, the Grant Park Criterium. After crossing the finish line, she received a bag of goodies and a high five from a large dog. What fun! Aunt Courtney was by her side as her personal trainer. After completing the race, we all sat in the shade and watched the next group of competitors take to the course. What fun!

Lake Junaluska part 5

We headed over to the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad in Bryson City, NC for the day out with Thomas. There were train tables, kids games, live music, and a real train ride! The kids had a blast!

Lake Junaluska part four

This summer both kids were able to swim in the pool with the aid of floating swim suits. The suits are lined with foam for buoyancy. Baikal liked to swim from one side of the pool to the other. Rybolt liked to flip himself face first into the water and then turn over to his back. Baby Julia, Aunt Sara, and Aunt Megan also enjoyed the pool.

Lake Junaluska part three

Baikal found a new feature at Lake Junaluska, the labyrinth. She loved running through the maze and finding the end. Hooray!

Lake Junaluska part two

Every year, Lake Junaluska hosts the last concert for the Folkmoot festival. This is a folk dance festival that hosts dancers from all over the world. We had a great time watching the dancers.

Lake Junaluska part one

The first week of our trip was spent at Lake Junaluska. We go here every year in August to spend time with my mother's side of the family (Rybolt side). I have been going for around 25 years now! Here is Baikal (named after a lake) next to another lake.

Home Sweet Home

We are back from our three week adventure! We had so much fun and were able to spend time with great family and friends. Thanks to all of you that made this trip a great one! There are tons of pictures to sort through, and I can't wait to share some of our great moments. However, laundry and grocery shopping are first on the to do list.

The night before our drive home, Baikal told me that when she finally got home she would be exhausted. Both kids slept in this morning. Welcome home sweet home!

On Vacation

As you have probably guessed, the blog is on vacation. Don't worry, we'll return eventually. But for now, it is summer time and the livin' is easy.
