Around the house

The kids were sick this weekend, so we just stayed around the house. Matt and Baikal made some tea to comfort sore throats. Rybolt is almost 3 months and doing great. I have been swaddling him for his naps and bedtime with this awesome blanket called, "The miracle blanket." I love it so much that I am going to add it to my List for New moms. See my Jan. 2006 entries for the original list. I would also add an abdominal binder to the list. I got one from the hospital after Rybolt and it was great.

Birthday week

My birthday was last week. It was great. We all went out to one of my favorite places to eat dinner and then back to the house for some cake. I got a new bag and shoes for my birthday. I love them!

Well Doctor Visit for Both

Today Baikal and Rybolt had well doctor visits. Baikal did not like having to lay down to get her height measured, but did not seem to mind the finger prick to have her iron levels checked. She is still measuring consistently smaller than average. Of course, I was a tiny tot too. One the other hand, Rybolt is weighing in at consistently taller and larger than average. Which of course comes from Matt. I will have to go back in one month for them to re-check Rybolt's head size. It is measuring small and they want to make sure that there is nothing wrong there. Matt and I are both guilty of being big headed, so it couldn't have come from us.

Rybolt in the carseat: A series

Around the house

Baikal asked to hold Rybolt last week. I was so excited. This was the first time she had shown an interest in him. She calls him "baby Rybolt." I got my camera and was ready to take a picture of my two little babies. Baikal kept her hand over her eyes to block the flash. The next day we had the Frilingos family over and they made us dinner. It was great! Here is Paul playing in a basket.

Grandmother Orange

One of my grandmothers died today. We called her Grandmother Orange because she had citrus plants in her yard at her home in Florida. She had been sick for awhile. She was surrounded by loved ones when she died. These are the things that will always remind me of her: citrus (of course), chex mix, roses, poinsettias, tennis, knitting, and card games. She taught me the best card game called hand and foot. We play it a lot on the Rybolt side of the family. She also gave me my first stock when I was a kid: Disney. The sale of that stock helped me to buy my first home. I love her and will miss her. Here is a picture of her with Baikal from Feb. 2006.
