I dress myself

Baikal is learning how to dress herself. Here is one of her head-to-toe ensembles.

Grandmee Visits

We had a great visit from Grandmee Gibson. She and her sister, Aunt Jewel, came by to visit Rybolt. A good time was had by all. I was even able to get the kids to wear matching sweaters.

Riddle me this

Today as I was leaving the house, a tiny troll stopped me.
"You can't pass without answering my riddle," she said.
"Ok," I replied.
"What is yellow and passes through the door?"
"Humm.....a butterfly?"
"No," said the troll (who looked a lot like my 2 year old daughter).
"A banana?"
"Yes, you can pass."

I have no idea where she learned about riddles. This is going to be fun.

Baikal playing: A series

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year! Hybrid costumes were all the rage. Baikal's Princess Kitty went trick or treating with Katie's Princess Peacock. Baby Ogre stayed behind with mom. Cousin Bill went as Joe the plumber and had a good time trick or treating with the kids.

Rybolt's costumes

Rybolt was given three costumes for Halloween. One was too big, one was too small, and one was just right!

WeeTee's costume

Baikal loves her Princess Kitty costume and wants to wear it all the time. Who can blame her? If I had a princess kitty costume, I would wear it all the time too. Grandma Bookie and Aunt Emilie visited this weekend and brought Baikal's bear, WeeTee, her very own kitty costume. Now Baikal and WeeTee live in Princess Kitty world. What fun! When Rybolt tries to play Princess Kitty with the gang, his roll is confined to Baby Ogre. I think he would make a better Prince Charming (if it wasn't for his tendency to bite).

Princess Kitty: A series

When asked what Baikal wanted to be for Halloween, she said, "Princess Kitty." Courtney's friend, Dawn, made her a beautiful costume. She loves it and wants to wear it all the time! Thank you so much!

Apple picking

We had a great time picking apples in Hendersonville, NC. Rybolt watched as big sister and dad climbed the trees to get the best ones. He was later able to sample the fruits of their labor. Check out Matt bringing home the harvest!

Greenville

A few weeks ago, we had a great trip to Greenville to visit with Grandmother Bookie. We took the kids to the downtown river area to play. They played so much that Baikal fell asleep on a chair outside a home goods store. We just left her there for a few hours while we shopped.

Blog...schmog

Hello faithful readers!
I am back from my mini blog vacation and my camera is filled with new pictures to share. It is October and everyday last week was a picturesque fall day: crisp and colorful leaves, blue skies, and gentle winds that tousle the hair. Of course, if you have no hair, like Rybolt, you always look well groomed.

Silverware...

Baikal and I were going through some of my jewelry. She was asking, "What's that?"
"A silver necklace, you wear it on your neck." I said.
"What's that?" she said.
"A silver bracelet, you wear it on your wrist." I said.
"Oh, that is silverware." Baikal observed.

The zoo with two...

I went to the zoo with both kids for the first time a few weeks ago. We met up with our friends Beth and Paul. I told Baikal that if she made it through the zoo with dry pants then she could get one ride on the carousel at the end. It was a success! We had a fun time, but I would suggest that if any of you are looking into buying a double stroller you might not want to get a side by side. When Baikal and Rybolt were both in the stroller, Rybolt kept trying to bite Baikal, Baikal was screaming "NO" and crying, and I was trying to push and punish at the same time. No good. I should have gone with the sit and stand variety.
