Time for Brown to take over

I picked out a book by Joyce Sidman called Red Sings from Treetops this week from the library for our story time. It is about the different colors with each season. It has some great lines in it. I love this quote:

"In Fall, Green is tired, dusty, crisp around the edges. Green sighs with relief: I've ruled for so long. Time for Brown to take over."

I love fall. We have been spending so much time playing outside. How can you resist it? It is so beautiful!

Kanuga 2009

We had a great trip up to the NC mountains with our church. Baikal stayed in her own twin bed. Rybolt enjoyed playing with the big kids. Matt and I enjoyed the crisp mountain air and spending time with friends. It was a good time.

Time for a picnic!

Trip to Hawkinsville

Matt took the kids to Hawkinsville to visit Grammie Gibson. They had a great time.

Fall into Fall

It is autumn here in Atlanta and we are loving it! We have been busy traveling and playing outside. I have lots of pictures to share of family visits, apple orchards, and spending time with friends outside. Here is one to tie you over until I post more tonight.

Is there something on my face?

Take me out to the ballgame

Baikal and I met up with our friends, the Burlingtons, at a recent Braves game. The game was rain delayed until 9:30 pm. Since that was too late for Baikal (and mom), we headed home before the first pitch. We still had a good time hanging out in the stadium with friends.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!!!

Baikal can write her name. This is HUGE news! She came up to me with a piece of paper and said, "Look mom, I wrote my name." There it was. I don't know who taught her, because we certainly have not been working on it. I try to keep pens and paper away from my kids like a prison guard would keep metal objects away from inmates.

Pics from the playground

We met up with some friends recently at the playground to have an alphabet scavenger hunt. It was fun. Even the snacks were letters!

Rain, rain, go away...

It has been raining here in Atlanta! It has stopped for a moment, and the sun has come out. Everything looks like it has been pressure washed. We have been trying to get out and play in the puddles as much as we can, because it has been getting a bit stuffy staying in the house. Today I took the kids to the indoor pool and they loved it! Baikal said that it was the perfect thing to do on a day like this.

Little feet

Not so Old McDonald...

On a recent trip to Greenville, Baikal and Rybolt were able to visit Grandmother Bookie's good friend Janet McDonald. Janet and her husband have a farm with goats and a Llama! Fun times!
