We took the kids to the park to throw the football around before the superbowl. Rybolt tried to eat the ball. Baikal liked to kick it. We'll try again next year.

It is the new year, and I have just had my 2008 photos all backed up on cds. I know, you were judging me for not posting since Baikal's birthday, but now that you know the reason you are feeling guilty because you haven't backed up your photos yet. So HA! Any who... I will be posting holiday pics soon, so don't be too down on yourself. Here is a quote from Baikal to tie you over.

Baikal: "Mommy, I am going to be sad."
Me: "Sad? Why are you going to be sad?"
Baikal: "Because someday I am going to get on an airplane and go to college and I will miss you very much."
Me: "We will miss you, but it will be fun for you to go to college and learn new things."
Baikal: "Yes. I will learn new things."

Carol Channing in the house!

One of Baikal's friends gave her an authentic Carol Channing ventriloquist doll for her birthday. It was a big hit.

Children's service

Baikal wanted to be a donkey for this year's Children's service at our church. My sister and mom made this outfit out of a track suit. They are so crafty!

We're going on a bear hunt

For Baikal's third birthday we went on a bear hunt! The kids got binoculars and maps to find some bears in Grant Park. After all of the bears were found, we headed over to the Millage fountain for story time. What a surprise to see a big bear (Matt in bear costume...I had no idea about this...a total surprise!). After the bear said good bye, we read three stories about bears. Then it was back home to sing Happy Birthday and enjoy cupcakes! A great party!

Dad's home

When Matt comes home, the kids light up! Last night he came home right after bath. The kids gave him a big hug and then were ready to play.

Playdate with Jack

Beth and I took the kids to the Atlanta Zoo for the naming ceremony of the new baby panda. It was Jack's first trip to the zoo. He was unimpressed, and slept most of the time. After the zoo, the Frilingos family came over for lunch. Jack was unimpressed, and slept most of the time.

Meeting Santa

We went to a winter festival on Saturday. The kids enjoyed meeting Santa, well...one of them.

Rybolt turns 1

Rybolt is now a one year old! He enjoyed his cake and eating it too. Baikal gave her little brother a card and enjoyed helping him unwrap and play with his toys. Matt and I are so happy to have him in our lives. He has made 2008 a wonderful year.
