Little Saint Simon's was such a beautiful place. I have really enjoyed my trips to the Georgia Coast.
What a great family vacation!

Little Saint Simon's part 3
Little Saint Simon's part 2
There was so much to do on the island. Here are a few pictures from our outings.
Bird watching with binoculars.
Sitting on the dock of the bay.
Beach combing with the onsite naturalist.
Swinging by the marsh.
Creeking by boat.
Horseback riding on the many trails.
Walking on the beach.
Walking the planks.
Seining for crabs.

Little Saint Simon's
We had such a great vacation on Little Saint Simon's beach. It is located south of Savannah on the Georgia Coast. The private island is open to 30 people a day. There is a lot to do if you want an active vacation, or you can just spend your day lounging on a hammock. We had a great time.
This is the main house where breakfast, lunch, and dinner were served. The food was fabulous! It was mostly locally caught seafood and lowcountry cuisine.
Our air-conditioned cabin.
One of the many cool sites on the island, this pond is where a lot of the local birds have their nests.

Eating: A Series
Baikal is now 6 months and has started eating rice cereal. It looks nothing like rice or cereal, but instead more soup-like. She has been eating for a few days now and it is going OK. Her 6 month doctor appointment is tomorrow, so I will get some good advice on when and what to do next.

List for new moms 11 weeks to 6 months
Baikal is not crawling yet, so I am sure things will change once that milestone is reached. She is also just starting on food, so I do not have much advice on that yet. Here are the items that were useful during this time.
3-6 Months
Infant tub-most people use this right away, but we were a bit late on the bathtime routine. Baikal does not like to lay back for her bath, so I am glad I got one that can support her while she is sitting up.
Exersaucer-I got the cheapest one and it has been fine. I was recommended to start using at 4 months, but she didn't really get interested in it until recently.
Jump and Go-I added this to the list, post-publishing but it was so great that I had to include it. It hangs in the doorway and baby jumps up and down in a bungee-like contraption. Baikal loves it and it keeps her occupied while I do other things. Woohoo!
Big Baskets-I have a few big baskets that I got at WorldMarket. They each have a few toys and a blanket in them. I put them in various rooms around the house so that Baikal has a clean blanket and stuff to play with while I do other things. Once a week I gather the baskets and clean the contents.

Bathtime: A Series
Pictures of our trip to Little Saint Simon and Charleston are coming soon! I took mostly video and am waiting for pictures from Grandmother Alice to post. In the meantime, here are a series of pictures from Baikal's bathtime. She didn't enjoy her baths at first, but they have grown on her. I really enjoy using the infant towel that was given to Baikal as a gift. They are made in Winston-Salem and the perfect size for a baby. She has other hodded towels that will be great also when she is a bit bigger.
Fun times!
Gotta wash from head to toes.
Baikal loves to watch the running water.
Up close and personal.
You have to wash where???
Time to dry off.
So fresh and so clean.

Visiting Grammie
We had a wonderful stop on our way down to the Georgia coast. We visited Grammie and had a good time. Baikal's middle name, Gibson, is from Grammie Gibson. She is such a wonderful great Grandmother. It was nice for her to show us pictures of when Matt was a baby. What a cutie! Like father, like daughter.
